This is our own clallenge that the English Department made up for precious water.

ENGLISH GRADE 11 – WATER LETTERS

Ms Devraj’s Grade 11 English class (28 pupils) wrote a letter to the Minister of Environmental Affairs commenting on the current water crisis in South Africa. They proposed various creative ways to alleviate the problem of National water shortage.   

ENGLISH GRADE 11 WATER POEMS:

Ms Devraj’s Grade 11 English class (28 pupils) integrated their literary learning of Macbeth into a poem about how important water supply, seas and oceans are to our survival.  Learners skilfully integrated quotations from Shakespeare to enhance their writing about such a pertinent issue.

ENGLISH GRADE 8 WATER WRITING: 

Ms Devraj’s Grade 8 English Extension class (30 pupils) were asked to write anything about water and how important it is.

ENGLISH OPEN MIC POETRY RECITALS

Grade 8 and 11 English Home Language learners participated in the poetry open mic recitals in the library to celebrate Poetry Week. Learners shared their poems with very enlightening and uplifting ideas about water conservation with a rapt audience of teachers and learners (about 100) that thoroughly enjoyed the event.
