We wanted to compare tap water to bottled water as in recent years pollution from used plastic water bottles has become a major concern. As part of our investigation we would identify the least polluting brand of bottle water. So we put 10 leading producers in bottled water and our local tap water to the test.

Britain consumes 3bn litres of bottled water per year. Typically bottled water retails at up to 500 times more than the price of tap water and uses up plastic which is made from oil, a non-renewable resource. Waste plastic bottles are becoming a huge problem world wide.
